Lotus has completed construction of its production facility in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which will produce the all-electric Eletre SUV model. Lotus’ production facility in Wuhan is designed with an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles.
In addition to production facilities, Lotus is also building its global headquarters in Wuhan. Lotus itself targets to sell 100,000 electric vehicles by 2028.
The production facility in Wuhan is targeted to produce 90,000 electric sedans and electric SUVs while the remaining 10,000 are electric sports cars to be built at the Hethel Lotus plant in the UK.

The Eletre itself was first introduced last March, scheduled to be delivered to the first consumers in early 2023. The electric SUV will also be exported to Europe and other continents.
The Eletre is the manufacturer’s first electric vehicle out of a target of four electric models by 2026. Using an 800-volt architecture, the Eletre is one of China’s fastest electric SUVs.
This electric SUV offers an electric all-wheel drive system with a system power of 441 kW. The Lotus Eletre can accelerate from rest to 100 km/h in less than three seconds.
