Lotus, the British sports car manufacturer, has begun deliveries of its first-ever electric car model, the Eletre, in China. The electric SUV, priced at Ā£89,500 in the UK, boasts a 450 kW drive and 112 kWh battery, providing a range of 600 kilometres. It is also equipped with a fully embedded L4-ready hardware with the world’s first deployable LiDAR system. Lotus has already received more than 5,000 orders globally for the Eletre, and the vehicle will soon be delivered to customers in the EU and UK.
Lotus CEO Qingfeng Feng said, āEletre is a crucial part of our plan to transform Lotus into a truly global electric car brand. We are a pioneer in the decarbonization of luxury automobiles, and the delivery of Eletre has demonstrated our capability to lead the energy transition and steer the industry towards a more sustainable future.ā

Lotus is not the only automaker venturing into the electric car market, but the company is confident in its ability to stand out. āOur new electric models not only have a strong lineage in design and performance, but they will be leaders in terms of efficiency and sustainability,ā said Feng.
