Li Auto has officially launched the new-generation Li L6 extended-range sport utility vehicle (SUV), updating one of its best-selling models with a larger battery, faster charging capability and upgraded intelligent driving hardware.
The new Li L6 is offered in a single Ultra variant priced at 249,800 yuan (US$36,910), matching the starting price of the previous generation.
The earlier Li L6 was available in Pro and Max variants, priced from 249,800 yuan and 279,800 yuan, respectively.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin within one week of the launch. Customers placing early orders will receive complimentary incentives including dual front zero-gravity seats, an exclusive exterior color and a black sport package.
Larger Battery and Faster Charging
The new Li L6 retains dimensions similar to its predecessor, measuring 4,935 millimeters in length, 1,960 millimeters in width and 1,735 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 millimeters.
One of the main updates is a larger battery pack. Capacity has increased from 36.8 kWh to 51 kWh, raising the CLTC pure-electric driving range to 300 kilometers, compared with 212 kilometers for the previous model.
With a full battery and a full fuel tank, the vehicle offers a combined CLTC driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers.
Li Auto said the new-generation lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supports charging from 20% to 80% in approximately 12 minutes, compared with around 20 minutes for the previous version.
The vehicle continues to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender paired with dual electric motors, producing a combined output of 300 kilowatts (402 horsepower). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
Upgraded Intelligent Driving Hardware
The Li L6 comes standard with Li Auto’s in-house developed Mach M100 intelligent driving chip, providing 1,280 TOPS of computing power. The same processor is also used in the company’s flagship Li L9.
An optional embodied intelligence package adds a second Mach M100 chip, increasing total computing power to 2,560 TOPS and expanding the LiDAR sensor count to four. The package is being offered at a promotional price of 20,000 yuan.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a 29-inch 6K integrated display extending across the center console and front passenger area, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8797 processor. Buyers can also choose an optional 21-inch 4K rear entertainment display.
Part of Broader Product Refresh
The Li L6 update forms part of Li Auto’s broader refresh of its L-series extended-range electric vehicle lineup.
The company introduced the updated Li L9 in May, followed by the revised five-seat Li L8 in June.
The Li L7 remains the only L-series extended-range model that has yet to receive an updated version.
The launch comes as Li Auto faces softer financial performance. The company delivered 30,895 vehicles in June, down 14.8% from a year earlier and marking its second consecutive month of year-over-year sales declines.
During the first quarter, Li Auto reported a net loss of 2.3 billion yuan, while its gross margin declined to 7.9%, compared with 20.5% in the same period last year.
