The Epicland X9 is the first production model from Epicland, a new automotive brand jointly developed by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei. The large three-row, six-seat extended-range electric SUV is positioned as a family flagship and enters the premium SUV segment alongside models such as the Aito M9 and Li Auto L9.
The X9 is offered with limited-time discounted prices ranging from 279,800 yuan ($41,460) to 359,800 yuan, compared with regular prices of 289,800 yuan to 369,800 yuan.
Pre-sales began on August 18 at a starting price of 299,800 yuan. Epicland previously said orders exceeded 20,000 units within the first 24 hours of pre-sales.
Epicland X9 Pricing and Variants
The Epicland X9’s limited-time discounted prices range from 279,800 yuan to 359,800 yuan. Its regular price range is 289,800 yuan to 369,800 yuan.
Epicland positions the X9 as a “second-generation family flagship,” with its three-row, six-seat configuration designed for family transportation and long-distance travel.
Dimensions and Cargo Space
The Epicland X9 measures 5,301 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width and 1,820 mm in height.
Its wheelbase measures 3,120 mm, providing a large cabin footprint for its three-row configuration.
With all six seats occupied, the X9 retains 484 liters of cargo space, allowing passengers to carry luggage without folding the rear seating rows.
Range-Extended Electric Powertrain
The X9 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender with a maximum output of 95 kW.
The electric drivetrain varies by configuration. The two-wheel-drive version uses an electric motor producing 300 kW (402 hp).
All-wheel-drive variants are available with combined motor outputs of 350 kW or 450 kW, depending on specification.
The range-topping version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.81 seconds.
Battery and Driving Range
The Epicland X9 is available with battery packs rated at 74.29 kWh and 51.46 kWh.
Its maximum claimed CLTC battery-only range reaches 465 km, allowing the vehicle to operate as an electric vehicle for daily driving before the range extender is needed.
With a full fuel tank and fully charged battery, the X9 has a claimed combined range of up to 1,410 km under the CLTC cycle.
Under the WLTC cycle, the maximum combined range is 1,120 km.
800-Volt Fast Charging
The Epicland X9 is built on an 800-volt electrical platform.
The SUV can charge its battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes, providing a short charging period for a large range-extended SUV.
The high-voltage architecture is designed to support faster charging and improve the vehicle’s suitability for long-distance family travel.
Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and LiDAR
The Epicland X9 comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system.
The vehicle also features an 896-channel dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR.
The highest-specification version adds three additional high-precision solid-state LiDAR units, bringing the total to four LiDAR sensors.
This extensive sensing hardware supports the X9’s advanced driver-assistance capabilities and forms one of the vehicle’s key technology features.
HarmonySpace 6 Smart Cockpit
Inside, the Epicland X9 uses Huawei’s HarmonySpace 6 cockpit system.
The dashboard features two adjoining 17.2-inch 3.4K displays, creating a large digital interface for occupants.
The system forms part of Huawei’s broader software and connected-vehicle technology package used by Epicland.
Chassis and Suspension
The X9’s chassis is based on Huawei’s Qiankun Chitu platform.
The SUV features dual-chamber air suspension and electronically controlled dampers, providing an electronically adjustable suspension setup.
It also has rear-wheel steering, which reduces the vehicle’s minimum turning radius to 5.3 meters.
The rear-wheel-steering system is designed to improve maneuverability for a vehicle measuring more than 5.3 meters in length, particularly in urban environments and parking spaces.
Future Battery-Electric SUV
Epicland plans to expand beyond the range-extended X9 with a battery-electric SUV built on a 1,000-volt platform.
Pre-sales for the future electric model are scheduled to begin in November, with deliveries planned for December.
The upcoming vehicle will give Epicland a pure-electric offering alongside its EREV flagship.
Epicland and Huawei’s Automotive Expansion
The Epicland X9 is the first vehicle from the brand created by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei’s Qiankun business.
Epicland is separate from Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA).
The brand was developed through cooperation between Huawei’s Qiankun business and Dongfeng, representing part of Huawei’s broader expansion in China’s automotive industry beyond the HIMA alliance.
The X9’s launch followed the introduction of the Aistaland GX7, a separate brand jointly developed by Huawei and GAC Group.
The closely timed launches demonstrate the expansion of Huawei’s automotive partnerships across multiple Chinese automakers and brand structures.
