Li Auto reported 48,122 vehicle deliveries in August, reflecting a 5.64% decrease from 51,000 units in July, though this figure represents a 37.83% increase compared to the 34,914 vehicles delivered in August of the previous year. As of the end of August, the company’s cumulative deliveries since inception totaled 921,467 vehicles.

Established in July 2015, Li Auto has emerged as a leading player in China’s extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market. The company’s first model, the Li One EREV, debuted in October 2018 with deliveries starting in December 2019. Since then, the Li One has been discontinued, and the company now focuses primarily on its L-series EREVs, including the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9.

Li Auto’s initial battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Li Mega MPV, launched on March 1, has experienced underwhelming sales, contributing minimally to overall figures. The Li L6, the company’s most affordable model, remains the primary driver of sales, with deliveries surpassing 20,000 units for the third consecutive month in August.

In July, Li Auto’s market share in China’s NEV segment priced at RMB 200,000 ($28,210) and above reached 18%, surpassing Tesla to become the leading Chinese NEV brand. As of August 31, Li Auto operated 481 retail stores across 145 cities, 423 service centers, and authorized body and paint shops in 220 cities. The company also maintains 748 supercharging stations with 3,506 charging piles throughout China.
