Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has released the first official images of its upcoming B01 electric sedan, days before its scheduled debut at the 2025 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition. Designed to appeal to a younger demographic, the B01 is set to be unveiled on April 23, the opening day of the show’s press events.

The B01 is the second model in Leapmotor’s B-series, following the recent launch of the B10 SUV on April 10. The electric sedan measures 4,770 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, according to a regulatory filing made earlier this week. It will be available with two single-motor configurations, offering peak power of either 132 kW or 160 kW.

Positioned below the brand’s more premium C-series in terms of pricing, the B-series is intended to generate higher volume sales.

The C-series currently includes models such as the mid-to-large size C01 sedan and the C10, C11, and C16 SUVs. The B01’s market positioning suggests a more affordable entry point for consumers seeking a battery electric vehicle (BEV) from Leapmotor.

The company has reported strong recent growth, with March vehicle deliveries reaching 37,095 units—an increase of more than 150% year-on-year.

Leapmotor aims to deliver between 500,000 and 600,000 units in 2025, following a total of nearly 294,000 vehicles delivered in 2024. The B01’s debut at Auto Shanghai will take place at Leapmotor’s booth in Hall 6.2H, where a media briefing is also scheduled on April 23.
