Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor has taken the final regulatory step toward launching its A10 compact electric SUV, after the model appeared in a public approval catalog released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The A10 was included in MIIT’s latest list of vehicles pending approval, which is open for public comment from Jan. 9 to Jan. 15. Inclusion in the catalog typically clears the way for a vehicle to be sold in China. The filing shows two battery-electric variants of the A10, listed under model codes FZ6430BEVA10B and FZ6430BEVA10A.

The five-seat A10 is the first model in Leapmotor’s new A series. According to the regulatory data, it measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,605 mm. Curb weight ranges from 1,360 kg to 1,460 kg, and the vehicle has a top speed of 160 km/h.
Power is provided by a single electric motor with peak output options of 70 kW or 90 kW. The SUV uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs supplied by Gotion High-tech, with production planned at Leapmotor’s plants in Jinhua, Zhejiang province. The filing also shows that some versions of the A10 will be equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, indicating the availability of more advanced driver assistance features.

Leapmotor first unveiled the A10 at the Guangzhou auto show in November 2025 and has said the model is scheduled for launch in the first half of 2026, with deliveries to follow shortly afterward. Pricing has not been officially announced, though a Leapmotor executive has said the highest-spec version of the A10 “will not exceed RMB 100,000,” positioning it at the lower end of China’s fast-growing electric SUV market.
The company has already begun taking reservations for the A10, allowing customers to place a refundable intent deposit of 99 yuan to secure early access and benefits.
Leapmotor’s current China lineup includes the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11 and C16 models. While some of these vehicles are offered with extended-range electric variants, the A10 will be sold exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle. Founder, chairman and chief executive Zhu Jiangming said in October 2025 that Leapmotor planned to introduce two A-series models in 2026, marking a further push into more affordable EV segments.
