Kia reported record U.S. sales in the third quarter of 2025, delivering nearly 220,000 vehicles, the highest quarterly total since the company entered the market in the early 1990s. The performance puts the South Korean automaker on track for its third consecutive annual sales record.

Through the first nine months of the year, Kia sold 636,148 vehicles in the U.S., up 9% from the same period in 2024. Growth was fueled by strong demand for updated models across its portfolio, including the K5 sedan, Telluride SUV, and its latest electric vehicles.

The EV9, Kia’s three-row electric SUV, posted its strongest month and quarter yet with 3,094 units in September and 7,510 in Q3, bringing its year-to-date total to 12,448. Although down from the 15,970 sold in the same period last year, the 2025 EV9 sold out earlier this summer, with the refreshed 2026 model year now arriving at dealerships.

The EV6 also contributed to the results, with 2,116 units sold in September and 11,077 through the end of Q3. Both electric models received updates for the 2026 model year, including adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) to enable access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

“As we begin the last quarter of the year, these best-ever sales performances set the Kia brand on a perfect trajectory to achieve yet another annual sales record,” said Eric Watson, Kia America’s vice president of sales.

Kia’s product expansion is part of a brand overhaul launched in 2021, which included new branding and vehicle designs. The company has seen record sales in multiple global markets and aims to grow further with the upcoming EV4, its first electric sedan, set to launch in the U.S. in early 2026.
