At the Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida, Kia India unveiled their EV9 Concept electric SUV for the first time in India. This concept vehicle, powered by battery, will be the flagship model of the company’s electric lineup. The EV9 Concept serves as a preview of Kia’s upcoming electrification strategy, with a focus on sustainability. It is planned to be available for purchase in 2025.

The Kia EV9 is a flagship, three-row electric SUV that is expected to have a long driving range of over 540 kilometers per charge, and support fast charging which could add up to 100 kilometers of range in just six minutes.

It will be based on the Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and debut in certain markets later in the year. Although there is currently no information on its launch in India, Kia India has presented the concept version of the EV9 as a demonstration of their capabilities in electric vehicle technology.

In addition to the EV9 Concept, the company also revealed the KA4 MPV, which is essentially the next generation of the Carnival vehicle sold in international markets. The KA4 boasts a distinct design that deviates significantly from the current Indian market model of the Carnival. While it appears rugged and robust on the exterior, it maintains a luxurious and premium feel on the inside.
