Kia UK has introduced a new entry-level version of its EV6 electric crossover, the ‘Air’ Standard Range, featuring a 63 kWh battery and a starting price of £39,235. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin later in May.
The new rear-wheel-drive variant extends Kia’s EV6 line-up and targets a broader segment of UK and European buyers amid growing demand for electric vehicles. With a WLTP-rated range of up to 265 miles (427 km), the EV6 ‘Air’ Standard Range maintains the model’s high-speed charging credentials, offering 10 to 80 per cent DC charging in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger.

Despite its smaller battery compared to the 84 kWh version, the car retains the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and 800 V architecture. A single motor mounted at the rear delivers 0–62 mph in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 115 mph. The lower battery capacity helps reduce kerb weight to 1,955 kg, contributing to improved efficiency and handling.
Kia has not pared back on standard equipment. The new variant includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual 12.3-inch curved displays, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Black cloth and artificial leather upholstery are standard, while exterior colours include Runway Red, Midnight Black, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey, with premium finishes available for £675.

The vehicle retains a 490-litre rear boot, 52-litre front storage compartment, and a 750 kg towing capacity. Kia Connect telematics with a seven-year subscription is included, aligning with the brand’s continued push to make electric mobility more accessible to mainstream buyers.
