The Kia EV9, an all-electric SUV, has added another accolade to its collection by winning the coveted “Best of the Best” award in the Cars and Motorcycle category at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2024. The Red Dot competition judges praised the EV9’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, highlighting its successful exterior design, contemporary character, and strong classic lines.
The Red Dot Design Award is renowned as one of the most prestigious seals of design quality. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 24, 2024, at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany.
Since its launch in 2023, the Kia EV9 has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, solidifying its position in the global electric vehicle market. Earlier this year, the 2024 Kia EV9 was honored with two awards at the 2024 World Car Awards, winning the titles of “World Car of the Year” and “World Electric Vehicle.”
The EV9 emerged victorious in the 2024 World Car Awards, surpassing vehicles from 29 other countries. The vehicle impressed the jury of 100 automotive journalists with its innovative design, spacious interior, and competitive price point.
Kia’s electric vehicle sales in the United States saw a remarkable 151% increase in the first quarter compared to the previous year. The brand’s strong performance in Q1 2024, which marked its second-best first quarter sales result, was attributed in part to the success of the EV9.
“Our growth in SUVs and the early impact of the all-new, all-electric three-row EV9 helped deliver Kia’s second-best first quarter sales result,” stated Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations at Kia America.
