The Kia EV6 GT has been officially launched in the United States to coincide with the Monterey Car Week event (19/8).

The Kia EV6 GT is present as the fastest electric car in the Kia lineup and is said to be able to beat the Ferrari Roma and Lamborghini Huracan Evo.

“The EV6 GT opens a new chapter in the Plan S electrification story for Kia by elevating the EV6’s delightful performance beyond expectations,” said Steven Center, Chief Operating Officer of Kia America.

“Moving towards the goal of zero exhaust emissions has never been so much fun,” the Center added.

As is well known, the Kia EV6 is a dedicated Kia electric car developed based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Kia EV6 GT is the highest variant with the best performance thanks to the two electric motors that drive all the wheels.

In combination, the Kia EV6 GT has a power of 430 kW or 576 hp and a peak torque of 740 Nm.

Kia claims the EV6 GT can sprint from 0-96 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 259 km/h.

Interestingly, the EV6 GT’s fierce power and torque can be enjoyed in various driving modes including Drift Mode.

Now when Drift Mode is activated, the EV6 GT will optimize the electric motor to channel more power to the rear wheels.

In addition to optimizing the electric motor, Drift Mode will also regulate the stability control system, e-LSD, steering, suspension, and braking.

Oh yes, it is worth mentioning that the EV6 GT also has a Long Range battery with a capacity of 77.4 kWh which is claimed to provide a mileage of 331 km.

Although the distance is not as far as other EV6, the battery can still be charged with a maximum power of 350 kW.
