Kenworth announced that its Next Generation T680E electric semi truck will be available with three versions of the Bendix Fusion advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), enhancing safety and automation features on its Class 8 battery-electric vehicle lineup.
Unveiled earlier this year at the 2025 ACT Expo, the T680E includes Bendix ADAS, ADAS PRO, and ADAS PREMIER packages. These systems offer a range of features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Auto Go™, Pedestrian Autonomous Emergency Braking, and High Beam Assist. The new offerings build upon existing features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Multi-Lane Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Blindspotter side object detection.
The updated T680E is powered by a PACCAR Integrated ePowertrain, delivering up to 605 peak horsepower and 1,850 lb-ft of torque. It uses a 500-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, enabling more than 200 miles of loaded range. Charging speeds have also improved, with the truck capable of reaching 90% charge in two hours via a 350 kW peak charging system.
Kenworth said the second-generation model is designed for greater serviceability. “This move to a fully integrated and ground-up PACCAR design means we were able to design for enhanced serviceability,” said Joe Adams, Kenworth’s chief engineer. “Providing easier access to the Master Service Disconnects for improved safety and increased uptime.”
The Class 8 T680E is designed for regional-haul, LTL, and drayage operations. It is available as a day cab in both tractor and straight truck variants, with a 6×4 axle configuration and up to 82,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR).
