Karma Automotive has introduced its latest vehicle, the Amaris, a luxury Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) coupe, at Monterey Car Week, combining electric power with a gasoline range extender.
The Amaris features two rear-mounted electric motors drawing energy from a 41.5 kWh battery, providing over 161 km of pure electric driving.

When the battery depletes, a 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine acts solely as a generator, enabling a total range of more than 644 km. The combined powertrain produces 708 horsepower and 676 ft-lb of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in under 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 266 km/h.
The system is designed to provide instant acceleration typical of modern electric vehicles while alleviating range concerns for longer trips.

The vehicle’s exterior follows Karma’s “Comet Line” design language, with carbon fiber and aluminum construction, 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, and swan-style doors. The cabin accommodates two occupants and features Crimson Orbit leather, carbon fiber trim, and an electrochromatic glass roof. Interior lighting adjusts according to drive mode, and the center console includes a hinged cover revealing the Start button.
Production of the Amaris is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 at Karma’s Moreno Valley, California, facility, with a starting price projected at €170,000.
