Just Eat, the online food delivery company, has announced plans to replace its entire corporate sales fleet in the UK with electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025. The move follows the company’s commitment to global sustainability, and the first 12 EVs, including the Cupra Born and VW ID.3, have already hit the road. While the UK fleet is made up of 175 diesel cars, the company’s goal is to ensure that all corporate and sales car fleets are electric by 2030.
Just Eat currently operates in several cities in the UK, including London, Manchester, and Liverpool, as well as remote towns in Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands. The new electric cars will be used by the sales team to visit restaurant and grocery partners and to provide support for those already on the platform. However, Just Eat does work with independent drivers, like Uber Eats, which means replacing the internal fleet will not guarantee emission-free deliveries.

The EVs must offer a range of capabilities that can meet the varying demands of each area sales team, and Just Eat chose the Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.3 because of their range of over 260 miles and advanced driver technology. The vehicles will sport Just Eat branding.
This move is part of Just Eat’s broader sustainability initiatives. The company has partnered with Notpla to provide compostable packaging to restaurants and recently conducted a carbon labeling trial in partnership with My Emissions. Just Eat also collaborated with Hubbub to reduce food waste by offering customers the option of a smaller portion size.
