Spanish bus manufacturer Irizar has received an order for 30 electric buses from public transport company Autobuses Urbanos de Valladolid (AUVASA). Reportedly, the initial delivery of eleven electric buses by the end of 2022.

The Irizar Group produces the Irizar ie tram electric bus model with a length of 18 meters high, the bus uses a pantograph feature and is equipped with smart plug-in charging in the garage or Jema Energy, the battery used is 630 kWh.

Txema Otero as Commercial Director Spain and Portugal of Irizar e-mobility said “We are very proud of the trust that AUVASA and the city of Valladolid have placed in us, they decided to choose Irizar ie tram. It is a bus that provides a unique city appeal while maximizing comfort, accessibility and safety for drivers and passengers.”

The Irizar ie tram for AUVASA has 43 seats, three wheelchair spaces and can carry up to 105 passengers. There is also a multimedia and information system with a 29-inch screen, equipped with a USB charging port and CO2 air conditioning.

The Irizar ie tram is the first zero-emission bus vehicle to be introduced in Valladolid. The manufacturer also received orders from other Spanish cities such as Barcelona and Madrid as well as Zaragoza as part of a large tender.

In addition, the ie tram electric bus is also operated for public transportation services in France and Switzerland. Irizar has been making electric buses with special facilities in Spain since 2018.
