International Motors and PlusAI said they are working together to develop and commercialize Level 4 autonomous trucks, leveraging the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor platform to enable scalable, production-ready driverless freight operations. The partnership aims to merge advanced artificial intelligence with proven vehicle engineering and manufacturing capability to deliver safe, efficient, and commercially viable autonomous transport.

The initiative builds on fleet trials conducted in Texas and combines International’s long-standing vehicle engineering and production experience with PlusAI’s SuperDrive™ autonomous software, which has been trained and refined over six million miles of real-world testing. The NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform — based on the company’s Blackwell architecture — provides the high-performance AI processing needed to support real-time perception, planning, and control.

“By combining automotive-grade computing and AI-native autonomous driving software with our deep customer relationships, we’re enabling the next phase of reliable autonomous freight,” said Tobias Glitterstam, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer at International.

The partnership’s three-way framework brings together key strengths: International contributes its manufacturing and dealer network expertise; PlusAI provides end-to-end AI software for autonomous driving; and NVIDIA supplies advanced compute hardware optimized for safety and scalability. “By collaborating with International and NVIDIA, we’re building for a future with thousands of self-driving trucks on the road,” said David Liu, CEO and Co-founder of PlusAI. “That demands rigorous safety, reliability, and large-scale manufacturing excellence.”

The new International autonomous trucks will feature lidar, radar, and camera fusion for 360-degree environmental perception, integrated with PlusAI’s SuperDrive™ and NVIDIA’s Thor platform. “NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor delivers the compute performance and functional safety required for production-ready autonomous trucks,” added Rishi Dhall, Vice President of Automotive at NVIDIA.

The companies said the collaboration is a step toward large-scale deployment of fully autonomous trucks designed to enhance freight efficiency, safety, and uptime across global logistics networks.
