Ineos Automotive Unveils Ambitious Plans for All-Electric Grenadier with 249 Miles of Range

Ineos Automotive, part of the diverse group of companies owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has made significant strides in the automotive industry since it began producing off-roaders in 2022. With a focus on providing an authentic and robust off-roading experience, the company promises to deliver its first all-electric vehicle with a minimum range of 249 miles (400 kilometers). The electric Grenadier, set to be manufactured by Magna Steyr, is expected to offer consumers a modernized yet genuinely original Land Rover Defender-inspired design, incorporating cutting-edge technology.

In a recent conversation with Australian outlet Carsales, Ineos Automotive CEO Lynn Calder confirmed that the battery-electric Grenadier is scheduled to launch in 2026. The decision to delay its release allows the company to invest adequate time and effort into creating a high-quality electric vehicle (EV). Meanwhile, Ineos is currently conducting tests on both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell versions of the Grenadier.

The traditionally-powered Grenadier has already been introduced to the European market and is slated for a launch in Australia later this year. Excitingly, the SUV is set to make its debut in the United States during the first quarter of 2024. Priced at $71,500 in America, it is estimated that the fully electric variant could cost around $85,000.

The pursuit of an authentic off-roading experience, combined with the implementation of eco-friendly technology, exemplifies Ineos Automotive’s commitment to meeting the demands of modern consumers. With substantial funding and support, the company aims to solidify its presence in the automotive industry and make a significant impact in the realm of electric mobility.
