Inceptio Technology has become a member of the Autoware Foundation, an open-source alliance focused on accelerating the development of autonomous driving systems. The move signals the Chinese autonomous trucking company’s intention to support global efforts to develop scalable, production-ready solutions for logistics.
Inceptio said its participation will focus on contributing real-world commercial data and technological expertise from its own autonomous driving systems. The company’s platform has already surpassed 200 million kilometers of commercial operations, and it partners with vehicle manufacturers to integrate its autonomous systems into series production trucks.
“Our extensive experience in series production and insight from the world’s largest commercial deployment of autonomous trucks uniquely position us to contribute to the Autoware Foundation,” said Julian Ma, Founder and CEO of Inceptio Technology. “We look forward to driving safer and more efficient logistics worldwide.”
The Autoware Foundation, established in 2018, supports collaboration among companies and researchers to advance open-source autonomous vehicle software. “Inceptio’s proven track record in autonomous trucking and deep industry and production expertise will be invaluable to the Autoware Foundation’s mission,” said Shinpei Kato, Founder and Fellow of the Autoware Foundation.
As a new member, Inceptio will work with Autoware’s global community to integrate its systems into future proof-of-concept and commercial deployment projects. The collaboration is aimed at expanding the use of open-source autonomous driving technology in the global trucking industry.
