The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has indeed become one of the stars of electric vehicles. Hyundai Motor America managed to sell 60,631 cars in America. Down 11 percent compared to last year. However, the Ioniq 5 could be one of the biggest sales contributors for electric vehicles.

During July 2022, sales of Ioniq 5 reached 1,978 units or 3.3% of the total market share of electric cars in America. Ioniq 5 production for the American market is still carried out in South Korea. In total, more than 15,000 Hyundai Ioniq 5 have been delivered to consumers in America.

Another 10,000-15,000 units will be delivered by the end of 2022. So, a total of 25,000 Ioniq 5 electric cars in the US market for a year.

In addition to the Ioniq 5, Hyundai also has several other electric car models. Namely Kona Electric, Ioniq Electric, Ioniq Plug-In, Santa Fe PHEV, and Tucson PHEV.

Bob Kim, vice president, national sales, Hyundai Motor America said that it will continue to market environmentally friendly car models in America.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of three models based on the Hyundai Motor Group E-GMP platform, which is available in the US. The other two are the Kia EV6 and the Genesis GV60. In the near future, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be launched to the market.

It is estimated that the Ioniq 6 will enter production this quarter (initially only for the European and South Korean markets), while production for the US will follow in January 2023.

Hyundai will sell IONIQ 5 electric SUV start from $39,700
