The Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car has just been launched in Indonesia. But, globally, the car has long been introduced.

In fact, Hyundai is currently reportedly preparing to launch its newest electric car, the Ioniq 6. Unlike the previous Ioniq, this time the Ioniq 6 is in the form of a sedan.

Quoted from Autocar.co.uk, Friday (8/4/2022), the design refers to the Hyundai Prophecy concept car. But, with a few tweaks and adjustments.

“Ioniq 6 is in the spirit of Prophecy. This car is higher because of the platform used,” said SasngYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center.

Lee says the design maximizes the interior space. In addition, there are also many improvements in terms of aerodynamics in the car.

It is reported that the launch of the Ioniq 6 will take place in mid-2022. The model has been caught on camera several times during road tests.

Technically, Ioniq 6 will be similar to Ioniq 5. Because, they will both use the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Most likely, there will be two propulsion as well, namely Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD). In addition, the battery is also said to have a larger capacity, which is 77.4 kWh.
