The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 has been given impressive official EPA ratings, exceeding most expectations. Hyundai introduced the IONIQ 6 as an “electrified streamliner” last June, positioning it as a sportier and more aerodynamic electric vehicle compared to its first dedicated EV, the IONIQ 5 SUV.

The IONIQ 6 is built on the same 800V E-GMP platform as the IONIQ 5, and boasts advanced features such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, ultrafast charging with a charge time of up to 80% in just 18 minutes, and the latest technological advancements.

Hyundai announced at the LA Auto Show that the IONIQ 6 is estimated to have a range of 340 miles on a single charge, making it one of the most efficient EVs available with a low drag coefficient of 0.22.

The IONIQ 6 features active air flaps, wheel gap reducers, a spoiler with winglets, full underbody cover, flow separation traps, and a boattail design to enhance aerodynamics.

Due to high demand, the first edition of the sleek and streamlined IONIQ 6 sold out within 24 hours of its launch in Germany, the UK, France, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 has completed its final EPA testing and is set to hit the US market. The automaker announced the estimated range for all 2023 IONIQ 6 models in a press release, with the top-range SE Long Range RWD model rated at 361 miles, 58 miles more than the IONIQ 5.

The IONIQ 6 SE RWD Long Range has a 140 MPGe rating, placing it among the top 10 vehicles on Fueleconomy.gov’s 2023 list with the Lucid Air Pure AWD and Touring AWD. The IONIQ 6 will be available in US dealerships starting this spring.
