Hyundai has officially debuted the Ioniq 6 N, its second high-performance electric vehicle, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, following in the footsteps of the Ioniq 5 N. The new model delivers significantly enhanced performance capabilities and vehicle dynamics, building on the brand’s ambitions in the EV performance segment.
The Ioniq 6 N features a dual-motor powertrain delivering 478 kW (641 hp) and 770 Nm of torque when N Grin Boost mode is activated. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 257 km/h, placing it among the fastest EVs in Hyundai’s lineup.
The automaker highlighted several technical advancements in the Ioniq 6 N compared to the Ioniq 5 N, including a redesigned suspension geometry and updates to the N e-Shift system, which emulates gear shifts and is engineered to reduce performance loss. The vehicle also benefits from improved acoustic tuning and hardware updates aimed at enhancing the driving experience.
Hyundai introduced the new ‘N Battery’ management system, optimized for high-demand scenarios such as drag races, sprints, and endurance sessions. The system includes battery conditioning functions that help maintain peak performance for extended periods during track use.
The Ioniq 6 N features aerodynamic enhancements, advanced suspension components, and software systems designed to balance speed and handling stability. With this launch, Hyundai continues to expand its performance N brand into the electric era, aiming to appeal to enthusiasts seeking dynamic driving experiences without emissions.
