Hyundai Extends Offer: Get a Free EV Charger with Select Electric Vehicle Purchases

Hyundai is extending its enticing promotion, granting customers a complimentary EV charger when purchasing or leasing certain electric vehicle models. The offer encompasses the 2023 or 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, along with the 2023 Kona electric.

Originally introduced by Hyundai in September, this promotion includes a free ChargePoint L2 Home Flex EV charger, valued at $549 MSRP, along with a substantial $600 installation credit through Hyundai Home.

The incentive structure is comparable to General Motors’ $1,000 arrangement with Qmerit for the Chevy Bolt. However, Hyundai’s offer provides even more in terms of credit value, appealing to potential electric vehicle buyers.

Initially slated to conclude at the end of October, the positive response from customers has led Hyundai to extend the promotion. According to Hyundai’s official website, this offer now remains in effect until January 2, 2024.

To qualify for the promotion, prospective buyers can select a new 2023-2024 IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 for lease or purchase. Additionally, the 2023 Kona Electric is also eligible, although the 2024 model is not included in this deal.

Upon the purchase or lease of an electric vehicle through Hyundai Motor Finance, customers will receive an email containing a coupon code for the complimentary EV charger within approximately 7-10 days.

To take advantage of this offer, customers can visit the Hyundai Home Marketplace, enter the provided code, and arrange for the charger’s installation. It’s important to note that hardwired installations must be facilitated through Hyundai Home to qualify for the free charger. Installation scheduling should occur within 90 days of purchase or lease and be completed within 180 days.

Following registration, Hyundai will connect customers with an energy adviser who will guide them through the process, assisting with various electric-related matters, including identifying trusted installers and obtaining necessary permits.

Hyundai introduced Hyundai Home in partnership with Electrum last year, creating an online marketplace that simplifies the process of finding solar panels, energy storage solutions, EV chargers, and local installers.

Additionally, Hyundai recently reduced EV lease prices for the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, offering some of the most competitive rates in the market. Given that a significant percentage of EV owners charge their vehicles at home, the provision of a free L2 charger serves as a compelling incentive for prospective buyers.
