Richar Yu, chairman of Huawei’s smart car solutions business unit, unveiled plans for the imminent release of the Luxeed S7, a groundbreaking electric sedan poised to make waves in the EV market. The Luxeed S7 is slated to make its debut in November, with ambitious claims that it will outshine Tesla’s renowned Model S in every aspect.
This marks Huawei’s foray into sedan production, following its prior endeavors primarily focused on SUVs, including Aito’s M-series models. The Luxeed S7 represents a significant shift in strategy for the tech conglomerate.
While specifics about the Luxeed S7 remain somewhat elusive, the model has already made an appearance in a filing catalog published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month. According to the official filing, the Luxeed S7 measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, 1,474 mm in height, and boasts a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

To draw a comparison, Tesla’s Model S dimensions are quite comparable, with a length, width, and height of 4,979 mm, 1,964 mm, and 1,445 mm, respectively, and a slightly longer wheelbase of 2,960 mm.
The pricing details for the Luxeed S7 remain undisclosed at this point, while Tesla’s Model S currently starts at 698,900 Chinese yuan ($95,600) after several price adjustments.
Luxeed is set to offer the Luxeed S7 in both single and dual-motor versions, with Huawei providing the electric motors for both configurations. The vehicle is expected to support a top speed of 210 km/h, as indicated in its previous filing. The single-motor model will come equipped with an electric motor boasting a maximum power output of 215 kW, while the dual-motor variant will include an additional motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.

Luxeed has already started generating excitement by sharing several images of the Luxeed S7 with automotive enthusiasts, sparking intrigue and anticipation within the EV community.
As the Luxeed S7 prepares to make its grand entrance into the electric vehicle arena, all eyes will be on this innovative collaboration between Huawei and Chery, as they set their sights on challenging Tesla’s dominance in the market.
