At the end of July, Cadillac unveiled the Celestiq electric sedan that will be the company’s flagship in the era of electrification. And based on the proposed trademark, it appears that the electric luxury sedan will come in several trim levels.

An application made with the United States Patent and Trademark Office revealed that Cadillac had filed for trademarks under the names Celestiq Aurora, Celestiq Magnetic, Celestiq Mist, and Celestiq Vale. Speculation is circulating, this may be the name of the four trim variants of the electric sedan.

What we know so far is that the flagship version can cost up to $300,000. That’s twice the price of the Cadillac Escalade-V ESV and above the $212,000 Bentley Flying Spur W12 and close to the $311,000 Rolls-Royce Ghost.

That’s a hefty sum of money and the only way to convince consumers it’s worth it is to build a world-class electric sedan, in all respects.

The production model Celestiq will be built on the Ultium EV architecture which is also used for other electric vehicles such as the Lyriq, Chevrolet Blazer, and Chevrolet Silverado EV. So far, the specifications for the electric motor or battery are not known. However, at a reasonable price, the Celestiq will have more than 500 hp from the flagship Lyriq SUV.

Another thing that has been confirmed is the dashboard with a 55-inch digital screen. In addition, there are two touch screens on the back of the headrest for rear seat passengers. Cadillac is expected to launch the Celestiq in late 2023 or early 2024 before sales begin in 2025.
