Serial 1 has just announced the second generation of its premium e-bike lineup with app updates. Serial 1 itself is a premium electric bicycle company from Harley-Davidson. Its position is almost the same as Livewire which is an electric motorcycle brand from Harley-Davidson.
The updated e-bike has a number of new software features following Serial 1’s partnership with Google Cloud. The Serial 1 was the first to integrate Google’s software products into its vehicles.
The Serial 1 e-bike includes software that allows riders to track their rides, collect data, and significantly improve safety and security. This will be an added selling point in competing with other electric bicycle companies.
The Serial 1 app connected to Google Cloud can be used to navigate the route, collect trip data, and control safety features on their bikes.
More advanced features will come thanks to access to Google Cloud analytics and business intelligence and integration with Google Cloud AI functionality.
Most e-bikes use Bluetooth to connect to smartphone apps. The Serial 1 will use cellular and GPS technology, in addition to Bluetooth, to ensure owners can connect to bikes even when they’re not nearby.
