Great Wall Motor’s premium Wey brand has launched the Gaoshan 7, a seven-seat plug-in hybrid electric MPV, adding to its Gaoshan series alongside the Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9. The release follows steady sales growth for the Wey brand in recent months.

The Gaoshan 7 is priced from RMB 285,800 ($40,100), slightly lower than its pre-sale price of RMB 289,800. Wey also introduced a Gaoshan Welfare Edition starting at RMB 349,800. The MPV measures 5,050 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,900 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,085 mm.

Both models feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with dual electric motors. The combined output is 337 kW of power and 644 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

The front and rear electric motors produce 80 kW and 135 kW, respectively. The vehicle is equipped with a 44.28-kWh battery, offering a WLTC electric range of 172 km and a total combined range of 945 km with a full tank and fully charged battery.

The Gaoshan 7 comes with a 128-channel LiDAR sensor and Wey’s third-generation Coffee Pilot driver-assistance system. It shares its platform with the Gaoshan 8, priced from RMB 309,800, while the larger Gaoshan 9 starts at RMB 353,800.
