Guident Corp., a technology company focused on autonomous vehicle safety, has received new patent allowances in the United States and South Korea for its AI-based remote monitoring and control system. The approvals expand the company’s growing global intellectual property portfolio, underscoring its strategic commitment to enhancing safety and operational control in the autonomous mobility sector.

The newly allowed patents—U.S. Application No. 17/909,432 and South Korea Application No. 10-2022-7034516—are titled “Artificial Intelligence Method and Apparatus for Remote Monitoring and Control of Autonomous Vehicles.” The technology underpins Guident’s Remote Monitor and Control Center (RMCC), a platform that leverages distributed sensor fusion and artificial intelligence to remotely assess risk and intervene when autonomous vehicles operate unsafely.

Once corrective actions are taken through remote control, the RMCC returns authority to the vehicle once it resumes safe operation. This proactive safety mechanism is designed to strengthen reliability and reduce risk across a variety of autonomous applications, including self-driving cars, delivery robots, and other automated systems.

The company already holds granted or validated patents in the U.S., European Union, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, and 20 individual European countries including Germany, France, and Sweden. With the latest allowances in South Korea and the U.S., Guident continues to reinforce its global footprint in the field of autonomous systems.

“Every new patent is more than a milestone, it’s a testament to our commitment to safer and smarter autonomous mobility,” said Harald Braun, Executive Chairman and CEO of Guident. The company sees its technology as a foundation for integrating AI with autonomy to support safer transportation ecosystems across industries such as logistics, robotics, and public transit.
