Greenlane, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, NextEra Energy Resources and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), has launched its first electric truck charging site in Colton, California, and signed its first fleet customer, Nevoya, as it begins expanding its network along major freight corridors.

The charging hub, located at the intersection of Interstates 215 and 10, features 41 charging points, including 12 high-power, liquid-cooled dual-port CCS towers delivering up to 400 kW, and 29 charging stations with 180 kW output. The site supports pull-through and bobtail access for trucks and offers amenities such as 24/7 security, a lounge with food and beverages, free Wi-Fi, bathrooms, and device charging stations.

Construction of the Colton site began just eight months ago and was partially financed by a $15 million grant from California’s Carl Moyer Zero-Emission Infrastructure Program.

Nevoya, Greenlane’s first customer, will begin operating its electric fleet from the facility in May and plans to scale operations to 100 electric trucks along Greenlane routes. The site also includes dedicated office space for fleet operators. Separately, Greenlane is working with Volvo Trucks to integrate charger reservations through the Volvo Open Charge app.

Greenlane is planning additional charging hubs every 60 to 90 miles along the I-15 corridor, with future locations slated for Long Beach, Barstow, Baker and Las Vegas.

“Opening the Colton site and bringing on a top-tier partner like Nevoya in the same week is awesome,” said Patrick Macdonald-King, CEO of Greenlane. “By ensuring truckers have access to reliable, high-speed charging when and where they need it, our team is helping electrify the backbone of American commerce.”
