Google for the first time showcased the Digital car lock feature on Android 12. Google said that later this year they will be bringing this feature to Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones.

XDA-Developers launches, Google promises that this feature will be present in the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Galaxy S21 series. Later users can use this feature to unlock several BMW vehicles that are compatible with the feature.

Google has also been trying to add several other features that will allow users to access various car functions through the Google Assistant.

In a recent blog post, Google highlighted some of the new features that Google plans to introduce this year.

Some of these features include setting the vehicle temperature through voice commands, locking or unlocking the vehicle. Another interesting feature is that users can get useful information (such as the amount of battery remaining in electric cars) using the Google Assistant.

Google plans to release support for the voice command feature later this year. Initially, voice commands were only available for certain types of Volvo. However, it seems that Google will extend the control feature via Google Assistant to other car manufacturers.

Until now, Google has only showcased the Google Assistant feature to control the car’s functions to the public. It is not yet clear when this feature will be fully released, what car brands will be supported, and the types of cars that can use it.
