Gogoro has announced the expansion of consumer sales for three of its electric scooters in Singapore, marking a significant shift from its initial commercial fleet operations in the country. Known for its innovative battery-swapping network, Gogoro’s electric scooters, including the Gogoro VivaMix, Gogoro Premium, and Gogoro SuperSport, will now be available to the general public through a partnership with Cycle & Carriage Singapore (C&C), which serves as the importer and distributor.
Henry Chiang, CEO of Gogoro, highlighted the ease and efficiency of Gogoro’s battery-swapping technology, stating, “Together with Cycle & Carriage, we are introducing a new generation of two-wheel urban transportation and refueling in Singapore. Gogoro battery swapping provides a quick, easy, and safe electric refueling experience that doesn’t require parking or time to charge.” This move aligns with Singapore’s proactive approach to accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption under the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
Wilfrid Foo, Managing Director of Cycle & Carriage Singapore, emphasized that Gogoro’s entry into the two-wheeler electric mobility sector is a key step toward supporting Singapore’s sustainability goals. The partnership aims to expand the adoption of battery-swapping technology, which has already proven successful in Gogoro’s home market of Taiwan, where over 1.4 million batteries are in circulation, facilitating hundreds of thousands of battery swaps daily.
