GM unviels Chevy Blazer EV Mid-size SUV, starts at $44,995 and range up to 320 miles

A few months after being announced at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show event, the Chevrolet Blazer EV has finally been introduced to the public.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV comes in a variety of front, rear, and all-wheel-drive variants, and there’s even a special version for the police. GM’s flagship electric SUV is claimed to have a range of up to 320 miles (515 kilometers).

Chevrolet has not provided details on each trim level. But the top-of-the-line Blazer SS comes with 557 horsepower (415 kilowatts) and 648 pound-feet (879 Newton-meters) of torque.

One of the features that Chevrolet is proud of is the Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode which allows the Blazer EV to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles/hour (96 km/h) in less than four seconds.

This electric vehicle supports up to 11.5 kilowatts of charging when plugged into a level 2 AC power outlet or 190 kW on a DC fast charger.

The Blazer EV comes in a variety of trim levels 1LT, 2LT, RS, and SS. The LT variant has a monochromatic exterior look and has 19-inch alloy wheels.

The RS type comes with a black grille and trim, as well as 21-inch wheels. While the SS trim comes with a black roof and 22-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Blazer EV has a large 17.7-inch infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard mounted diagonally. In addition, the Blazer EV has an 11-inch display for the digital instrument cluster. Buyers have the option of adding the GM Super Cruise advanced driving assistance system.

To start the vehicle, the driver does not use the start button in the cabin. Instead, when the vehicle detects a key, the driver only needs to step on the brake pedal and the vehicle is ready to go.

Blazer EV comes with Chevy Safety Assist technology. That includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, and smart headlights. Reverse automatic braking and park assist are also available.

The Blazer EV will be available to customers in the summer of 2023 with the 2LT and RS trims going on sale for an estimated price of $47,595 and $51,995, respectively.

The SS variant arrives late 2023 for $65,995, while the 1LT trim will arrive in Q1 2024 for $44,995.
