General Motors has released a comprehensive software update for its battery-electric full-size pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, introducing new driver-assistance tools, infotainment applications, and user interface enhancements.
The update, identified as version 86277880 with Build Number SQBR6, is applicable to 2024 and 2025 models, and replaces the previous SQBR5 build. GM has indicated that installation must be performed at dealerships, although the 2026 models already come with the new software pre-installed.

Among the new features, the update enables Turn Signal Activated View, which displays a camera feed on the central infotainment screen when a turn signal is engaged, and a Trailer Camera with a transparent trailer overlay and length detection to assist with lane changes and parking. Hands-Free Lane Keep Assist and Boat Ramp Assist are also added.
The update expands the in-vehicle Play Store with new apps including Google Chrome, Prime Video, HBO Max, Peacock, Tubi, YouTube, and a “Pass Time While Parked” section with games such as Angry Birds, Solitaire, and Crunchyroll.
Minor user interface changes include revised heated and ventilated seat controls, larger numbers on the Head-Up Display, and a fourth instrument panel layout focused on an uncluttered view with key driving information. Some owners have reported improved power efficiency in both city and highway conditions following the update.

“Parts of the system appear to have been updated, but the feature has not yet launched,” the company noted in reference to GM’s planned Connected Car Camera functionality, also known as Surround Vision Recorder.
The update is expected to take several hours for installation, and some owners have reported needing to manually check for the update multiple times before it becomes visible to dealers.
