General Motors (GM) has officially surpassed 300,000 electric vehicle (EV) sales in the U.S. since 2016, announcing the milestone after recording its highest-ever quarterly sales in October. Across North America, GM has now sold over 370,000 all-electric vehicles, making significant strides in the growing EV market.

In the third quarter, GM delivered a record 32,095 EVs in the U.S., overtaking competitors Ford and Hyundai to secure the position of the second-largest EV seller in the country.

The increase in sales is attributed to a growing lineup of models across key segments, with options spanning from luxury vehicles, like the Cadillac Lyriq, to practical models, like the Chevy Silverado EV pickup, and budget-friendly choices, such as the new Chevy Equinox EV.

Chevrolet’s Equinox EV LT, priced at $35,000 and offering a range of over 315 miles, has begun arriving at U.S. dealerships as GM emphasizes accessibility in the EV market. Meanwhile, the 2025 Silverado EV LT, a more affordable option in GM’s EV truck line, is also hitting dealerships nationwide. Upcoming models, including the Cadillac OPTIQ and the ESCALADE IQ, are expected to further boost GM’s market momentum by year’s end.

Looking ahead, GM plans to launch a next-generation lineup of Chevy Bolt models in 2025. As production scales, GM aims to reduce prices further by leveraging declining battery costs and adopting new battery chemistries, with a shift away from the “Ultium” branding. Additionally, GM is working to expand charging infrastructure, making the transition to electric vehicles more convenient for its customers.
