Giga Shanghai officially resumed production after experiencing closure since March 28 due to the Lockdown policy in Shanghai.

In production after the lockdown there were 8,000 employees back at work, according to a report by Kankanews.

In Phase II vehicle workshops, 1,600 production and logistics personnel have carried out production activities.

Tesla said its stock of vehicle parts was sufficient for one week of production. On the other hand, Tesla is also encouraging more than 100 suppliers to resume production with the support of Shanghai authorities, according to the report. This is expected to make production that has stopped running smoothly again.

Health protocols are also in place, with all employees at Giga Shanghai being tested daily for Covid. In addition, production areas and offices will be disinfected every day.

Giga Shanghai only produces Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Last year, it produced a total of nearly 500,000 vehicles with a production speed of close to 10,000 vehicles per week.
