Genesis Motor Europe has announced plans to expand into four additional European markets in 2027, continuing the luxury brand’s renewed growth strategy across the region.

The Hyundai-owned premium marque confirmed that Austria, Denmark, Poland and Portugal will join its European network next year, increasing its presence to 11 countries across the continent.

The expansion follows Genesis’ planned entry into Spain in the fourth quarter of 2026 and comes after the brand resumed its European rollout earlier this year.

Renewed European Growth

Genesis first entered Europe in 2021 with launches in Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

After a period of limited expansion, the company resumed its European growth strategy in 2026 by entering France, Italy and the Netherlands.

The addition of Spain later this year, followed by four new countries in 2027, represents the most significant phase of expansion since the brand’s European debut.

Building a Stronger Presence

Peter Kronschnabl, Head of Europe at Genesis, said the new market entries demonstrate the company’s long-term commitment to the region.

“Genesis’ expansion into Austria, Denmark, Poland and Portugal confirms our commitment to Europe and our ambition to redefine the premium automotive segment.”

“We are excited to bring the Genesis line-up to more customers across Europe, supported by strong and committed retail partners.”

Kronschnabl added that the company sees opportunities to attract customers through Genesis’ distinctive design philosophy, Korean heritage and customer-focused approach.

Expanding Retail Network

Alongside its market expansion, Genesis is also strengthening its physical retail presence across Europe.

While the brand initially relied largely on multi-brand dealerships connected to Hyundai’s distribution network, Genesis has begun opening dedicated retail locations.

In April, the company opened its first standalone European showroom in Almere, near Amsterdam, in partnership with Dutch dealer group Broekhuis.

A second dedicated showroom has since opened in Italy, and Genesis plans to launch additional locations across Europe during the second half of 2026.

By 2027, the company aims to operate more than 50 sales outlets throughout the region.

EV Models Expected to Play Key Role

Genesis has not yet confirmed which vehicles will be offered in the new European markets.

In the Netherlands, the brand currently focuses exclusively on battery-electric models, including the GV60 compact luxury SUV, the Electrified GV70 SUV and the Electrified G80 luxury sedan.

Other European markets, including Germany, continue to offer both electric and internal combustion engine variants.

The expansion comes as premium automakers increasingly focus on electrification and seek to strengthen their positions in Europe’s competitive luxury vehicle market.

With its entry into Austria, Denmark, Poland and Portugal, Genesis is set to significantly broaden its reach and continue building brand awareness across Europe while supporting Hyundai Motor Group’s wider premium and electric mobility ambitions.
