Geely Auto has introduced a new-generation electric drive system that integrates 16 key powertrain components into a single unit, as the automaker continues to develop more compact and efficient battery-electric vehicle technologies.
The new 16-in-1 Intelligent E-Drive will make its production debut in the upcoming Geely TT saloon and is designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce packaging requirements and simplify vehicle manufacturing.
Integrated Design Targets Higher Efficiency
According to Geely, the integrated drive unit weighs 75 kilograms and combines multiple powertrain functions that would traditionally be housed in separate components.
The company said the system achieves an overall efficiency of 93.8% under the Chinese CLTC testing cycle by reducing energy losses while optimizing packaging and weight.
The technology will first be introduced in the Geely TT, which recently completed an efficiency drive around Qinghai Lake. During the test, the vehicle recorded an energy consumption of 8.2 kWh per 100 kilometers, a result that Geely said earned a Guinness World Record for the lowest energy consumption by a production battery-electric saloon on the route.

Performance and Durability
In addition to efficiency improvements, Geely said the new drive system is capable of delivering up to 425 kW in a dual-motor configuration, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
The manufacturer said the unit incorporates a thermal management system with 54 cooling channels and active lubrication for the shaft and transmission components to maintain stable performance during sustained high-load operation.
According to Geely, the drive system has been engineered for a service life of up to five million kilometers.

The Geely TT also set a second Guinness World Record by completing a synchronized drift involving two production vehicles over a distance exceeding 46 kilometers on a wet surface.
Supporting Future EV Development
The new drive unit reflects a broader industry trend toward highly integrated electric powertrains that combine multiple functions into a single assembly to reduce weight, optimize space utilization and simplify production.
The technology announcement comes as Geely continues expanding its international presence. The company recently entered the German market with the launch of its core Geely brand, introducing the battery-electric Geely E5 SUV and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid while continuing to expand its European sales and service network.
