Geely Auto has signed agreements for its 100th retail outlet in the United Kingdom, less than a year after entering the market. The expansion is part of the Chinese automaker’s efforts to build its overseas sales network and increase access to its vehicle lineup.

The latest outlet, Evans Halshaw Geely Mansfield in Mansfield, was signed in partnership with dealership group Lithia, Geely said on Monday. The company had previously set a target of establishing 100 UK dealerships by the end of 2026.

The milestone refers to signed outlets rather than confirmed operating dealerships. Geely has not disclosed how many locations are currently open to customers.

Dealership Partnership Expands Across the UK

Lithia, which Geely identifies as the UK’s second-largest automotive dealership group, operates more than 160 stores nationwide. Evans Halshaw is part of the group.

According to Geely, sales at the partners’ first outlet in Lincolnshire following its launch led to an expansion of their cooperation to Mansfield, Glasgow and Newcastle.

Evans Halshaw Managing Director Gary Armstrong said the company intends to make Geely vehicles available to more customers and continue working with the brand as its UK presence develops.

UK Registrations Pass 10,000

Geely reported that cumulative vehicle registrations in the UK exceeded 10,000 within 11 months of its market entry. More than 5,000 vehicles were registered in September 2026 alone, according to the company.

The registration figures provide an indication of the brand’s early market activity, while the size of its operating retail network remains unclear.

By August 2026, Geely had introduced three models in the UK: the all-electric EX2, the EX5 electric SUV and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV. The lineup gives the company a presence in both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid segments.

Corporate Sales Add Another Route to Customers

Alongside its dealership network, Geely is developing sales channels aimed at corporate customers and employees.

In August, the company expanded its partnership with Tusker, adding the all-electric EX2—known as the Xingyuan in China—to the provider’s salary-sacrifice vehicle offering. Tusker is part of Lloyds Banking Group.

Under salary-sacrifice schemes, eligible employees can lease vehicles through arrangements that use deductions from their salary before tax, subject to the applicable programme rules. The channel provides Geely with an additional route to customers beyond conventional retail dealerships.

Export Target Raised for 2026

The UK expansion forms part of Geely’s wider international growth strategy. At its interim earnings briefing on August 17, the company raised its export target for 2026 to 920,000 vehicles, up from its previous goal of 640,000.

The UK network’s development will depend on how quickly signed outlets begin operating, customer demand for the available models and the company’s ability to expand its distribution and sales channels. Geely has not disclosed a breakdown of the 100 signed outlets by opening status.
