Geely will make its first foray into the UK market with the launch of its EX5 all-electric SUV, with customer deliveries set to begin in late October. Pre-orders for the model, priced from £31,990, are now open. The mid-size SUV comes with a 60.2kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a WLTP range of up to 267 miles, depending on trim level.
The EX5 measures 4.61 metres in length, 1.90 metres wide, and 1.67 metres high. It is powered by a front-mounted 215bhp (160kW) electric motor that enables a 0–62mph acceleration in 6.9 seconds. The SUV supports charging at up to 100kW, allowing a 30–80% recharge in approximately 20 minutes. Battery capacity and motor output remain consistent across the range, although heavier top-spec trims slightly reduce overall range.
Trim levels include the entry-level SE at £31,990, featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with High Beam Control, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 360-degree parking camera system. The mid-level Pro, priced at £33,990, adds 19-inch wheels and alternative interior colours. At the top of the line, the Max trim costs £36,990 and includes a panoramic roof, powered tailgate, ventilated and massaging front seats, ambient lighting, an upgraded audio system, and a head-up display.
Geely confirmed that all UK EX5 models will include an Andersen A3 home wallbox charger and come with an eight-year warranty—six years standard plus a two-year extension. The EX5 previously launched in China, where it is offered with either a 60.2kWh or 68.39kWh battery, the latter delivering a longer 610 km range. The larger battery variant will not initially be available in the UK.
The EX5 is also sold in Germany under the Galaxy E5 name. Geely plans to expand its global retail network to over 300 dealerships and service centres outside China by the end of 2025.
