Geely Galaxy, the electric vehicle brand under China’s Geely Auto, has launched an updated version of its E5 compact SUV, offering a more competitive starting price and extended driving range. The move is aimed at strengthening its position in both domestic and overseas electric vehicle markets.
The starting price of the new 2026 E5 has been reduced to RMB 109,800 ($15,340), a 2.66 percent decrease from the previous model. The vehicle now offers two battery configurations with improved CLTC ranges of 530 km and 610 km, compared to 440 km and 530 km in the earlier version.

Five variants of the updated E5 are now available, with prices ranging from RMB 109,800 to RMB 145,800. The lower-priced variants feature a 60.22-kWh battery, while the higher-end models are equipped with a 68.39-kWh pack. All variants retain the same powertrain as their predecessor—a 160 kW motor capable of delivering 320 Nm of torque and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
The updated E5 maintains its predecessor’s dimensions, with a length of 4,615 mm, a width of 1,901 mm, and a height of 1,670 mm, along with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. It is offered in both left-hand and right-hand drive versions, reflecting its global ambitions.

For export markets, the E5 has been rebranded as the EX5 and has become the top-selling A-class pure electric SUV exported from China, with availability in 35 countries.
Geely Galaxy is positioning the E5 as a rival to BYD’s Yuan Plus, also known internationally as the Atto 3, which is priced from RMB 115,800 and offers CLTC ranges of 430 km and 510 km.
