Chinese automaker Geely Galaxy announced that cumulative sales of its E5 electric SUV, known as the EX5 in overseas markets, have surpassed 150,000 units since the vehicle’s launch in August 2023. The model, part of Geely’s expanding electric lineup, recorded 77,685 deliveries in the first half of 2024.
Built on Geely’s Global Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, the E5 is a compact pure electric SUV with a 4,615 mm length and a 2,750 mm wheelbase. In China, the E5 is offered in five trim levels, priced between 107,800 yuan and 143,800 yuan (approximately $15,000 to $20,100). Two battery options are available — 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh — supporting driving ranges of 440 km and 530 km under Chinese test standards. The model also features an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.269 Cd.
The vehicle is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 160 kW (215 hp) and 320 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Energy efficiency is rated at 11.9 kWh per 100 km. Fast charging allows the battery to reach 80% from 30% in 20 minutes, with 135 km of range added in the same timeframe.
The E5/EX5 is sold in several global markets, including Greece, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and select Adriatic countries. The overseas model retains the same specifications as the domestic version. It is available in eight exterior color options and three interior themes: white, orange, and blue.
Inside, the E5 includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a central display of either 15.4 inches or 14.6 inches, depending on the trim. The infotainment system runs on the Galaxy Flyme Auto OS, supported by a 7nm Dragon Eagle-1 chip. A 16-speaker Flyme Sound system is standard across the lineup.
The SUV also comes equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance features, including blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, remote parking, and rear collision alerts. Seating is configured for five passengers.
