Revving up its presence in the urban mobility market, GasGas, renowned for its off-road motorcycles, introduces its inaugural e-bike, the Moto. With a distinctive design and performance-oriented features, GasGas aims to capture the attention of urban commuters seeking an exhilarating ride through city streets.
GasGas, part of the esteemed Pierer Mobility group alongside industry giants KTM and Husqvarna, has been making waves in the two-wheeler industry. While excelling in enduro and motocross competitions, the Spanish brand has now shifted gears to explore the world of urban mobility, debuting its first electric bicycle.
Unlike GasGas’ high-performance electric mountain bikes, the Moto embraces the concept of urban mobility. Drawing inspiration from classic beach bikes commonly seen cruising along the Californian coast, GasGas infuses the Moto with a touch of motorcycle aesthetics, showcasing a vibrant red livery that commands attention.
Underneath its eye-catching exterior, the GasGas Moto boasts a 750-watt rear hub motor, delivering ample power for thrilling rides and even wheelie enthusiasts. In the U.S. market, the model will feature a throttle grip, further enhancing the fun factor. However, to comply with stringent regulations surrounding pedal-assist electric bicycles, the European version will forgo the throttle feature.
Built on a robust steel tubular frame, the Moto ensures a sturdy ride for riders of various sizes and shapes. The elongated saddle seamlessly merges with a tail section reminiscent of motocross bikes, enhancing the bike’s sporty appeal. Rolling on 20-inch wheels paired with wide tires, the Moto promises a comfortable and stable journey, while front and rear disc brakes guarantee reliable stopping power. It’s important to note that this e-bike is not suitable for demanding off-road terrains, as both the front and rear ends lack suspension.
GasGas’ foray into urban mobility with the Moto signifies the brand’s commitment to diversify its product lineup and cater to the evolving preferences of riders. With its fusion of beach bike inspiration and motorcycle influences, the GasGas Moto aims to carve its own path in the bustling world of urban commuting.
