Formula E and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) have finally announced the time and place of the Formula E Gen3 car launch.

The launch will take place at an event in Monaco on April 28, 2022.

Formula E fans can watch the launch via their associated digital channel. Formula E teams will start using Gen3 cars at the start of the 2022-2023 season. Formula E teams are expected to start testing with the new car this spring.

The FIA ​​first shared early details of the Gen3 at the end of last year. The Gen3 car has a motor capable of producing 350kW of power and a top speed of 200 miles per hour.

It will also include front and rear powertrains, a first for a formula car. With a total power of 600kW, the Gen3 will have twice the capability of the current Gen2 Formula E car.

The FIA ​​has also promised the Gen3 will be the most sustainable vehicle (net-zero carbon footprint) today. Even the carbon fiber used can be recycled.
