Ford has just teased its upcoming electric SUV on Twitter, hinting at a new addition to the company’s EV lineup. While the automaker has been producing its electric F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E in the United States, it has yet to expand its consumer offerings in Europe. But with increasing regulatory pressure and demand for electric vehicles, Ford’s new electric SUV could be the answer.
The teaser video shared by Ford on Twitter provides little information about the upcoming SUV, though it may be the second teaser released ahead of its launch. Last week, Ford’s VP of European Sales, Martin Sander, gave a glimpse of the vehicle, but it is still unclear if it’s the same SUV or another model that Ford plans to release.

The new electric SUV will be officially revealed on March 21st during Ford’s event “Exploring Reinvented,” which will be available on YouTube. There is speculation that the SUV may be the next generation of the Ford Explorer, the brand’s longest-lasting nameplate, but this has not been confirmed.
Ford CEO Jim Farley responded to the announcement with a tweet, stating that the upcoming vehicle will be “Our first EV designed and built in Europe for European customers,” which suggests that it could be an entirely new nameplate.

While not much is known about the new electric SUV, it is expected to be Ford’s first true 3-row EV, putting it above the Mustang Mach-E in size. Pricing and other details about the vehicle have not been released.
With the growing demand for electric vehicles in Europe, Ford’s upcoming electric SUV could be a significant addition to its lineup. Stay tuned for more information after the official reveal on March 21st.
