Ford has officially delivered the first F-150 Lightning to retail and fleet customers today. The F-150 Lightning is an electric version of the F-150, the best-selling passenger vehicle in the US. The lucky new first owner is a member of F150LightningForum from the state of Michigan.
The first owners got their hands on the F-150 Lightning one year after pre-ordering. He ordered Platinum Trim Lightning on May 20, 2021, and the reservation was later converted to an order on January 7, 2022. Orders were placed on April 18, 2022, until five weeks later shipped today, May 26, 2022.
Ford CEO Jim Farley took to Twitter to congratulate the first owners of the F-150 Lightning and said he was interested to hear his response.

Ford quickly amassed 200,000 orders for the electric pickup. Ford announced that it start production of the F-150 Lightning last month.
The electric pickup truck market is key to electrification in the United States. Pickup trucks with internal combustion engines are a large segment in the United States.
