Ford announced price increases for all versions of its Ford F-150 electric pickup, which go up between $6,000 and $8,500, depending on trim levels.

Quoted from caranddriver, the company from the United States, said the price increase was caused by “a significant increase in material costs and other factors.

The cheapest Pro model is now priced at around US$47,000, the price of the XLT model is up US$8500 to US$82,769, while the top-tier Platinum model received an increase of US$6000, pushing its price to US$98,669.

However, Ford said that the price increase does not apply to current order holders awaiting delivery.

Prices for raw materials such as lithium used in batteries have soared in recent times as auto companies, including Tesla Inc and electric pickup maker Rivian Automotive Inc, scrambled to secure supplies to avoid production disruptions.

Earlier in June, General Motors Co. also raised the price of its electric Hummer to reduce higher commodity and shipping costs.

This Ford F-150 electric pickup has a standard battery and is capable of reaching 370 km on a single charge. It has a power of about 563 hp and a torque of more than 1,000 Nm. The Ford F-150 Lightning is also capable of reaching speeds of 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

As a large-bodied car, the Ford F-Lightning is able to pull a load of more than 2 thousand kilos (in standard form) and 3,500 kilos in optional packages.
