Ford Mustang Mach-E review after 2 years of ownership and driving 17,000 miles

Matt Farah, host of The Smoking Tire, and his wife have been the proud owners of a Ford Mustang Mach-E for the past two years. Despite its controversial Mustang branding, the Farahs have grown to love their electric crossover, which they recently took on an eight-hour road trip to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.

According to Farah, the Mach-E’s design has held up remarkably well over the past two years, with only one noticeable area of wear and tear on the interior. But what about its performance? Farah notes that after driving the Mach-E as a press car in early 2021, he was immediately impressed, stating that Ford had “seemingly built a better Tesla” in the most important ways.

With 17,000 miles under their belt, the Farahs put the Mach-E to the test on their road trip, showcasing its regenerative braking, interior technology, and advanced driver-assist systems. They also put the public DC Fast Charging network to the test, acknowledging the frustrations of road-tripping in an EV.

Despite its impressive features, some may be hesitant to purchase a Mach-E due to Ford’s lack of a widespread and reliable DC Fast Charging network. However, Farah’s overall positive review of the Mach-E suggests that it may be a strong competitor to Tesla, at least in terms of driving experience.
