Ford CEO Jim Farley has expressed his gratitude to Tesla and CEO Elon Musk for opening the Supercharger Network to non-Tesla electric vehicles through the North American Charging Standard (NACS). This move marks a significant milestone in North America’s transition to sustainable transportation, as Ford EVs can now access Tesla Superchargers.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Farley acknowledged that he has personally tested Tesla’s Supercharger Network with Ford’s electric vehicles. He praised the ease of integration of NACS into Ford’s EVs, highlighting the hard work that went on behind the scenes. Farley also thanked Elon Musk and Tesla for their leadership in providing customers with improved EV charging options.

I've tested it myself and it works great. Making something this easy to use takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes, so congrats to the @Ford and @Tesla teams for making this happen.

“I’ve tested it myself and it works great. Making something this easy to use takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes, so congrats to the Ford and Tesla teams for making this happen. I would also like to thank Elon Musk and the Tesla team for their close collaboration and leadership to help change the lives of so many EV customers through improved access to charging,” Farley wrote.

Ford customers have begun receiving their free NACS adapters, which come in an environmentally-friendly gift box. The package includes a letter from Jim Farley, thanking them for being part of the Ford family and joining the electric vehicle revolution.

Tesla is committed to ensuring that the Supercharger Network can support non-Tesla vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 Lightning. According to Tesla’s official NACS page, one new NACS-compatible stall is being opened every hour. At this rate, non-Tesla owners can expect over 730 new NACS-compatible Supercharger stalls to go live each month. By the end of February 2025, the number of NACS-compatible Supercharger stalls could exceed 23,000.
