The Fisker Ocean Sport, an all-electric SUV, has exceeded expectations in the official WLTP range test, achieving a distance of 288 miles (464 km) per charge, according to test engineers. This figure surpasses Fisker’s initial target of 250 miles (402 km) and positions the Ocean Sport competitively in the electric vehicle market.
When equipped with 20-inch wheels, the Ocean Sport’s extended range provides an appealing option for consumers, especially considering its MSRP of £36,900 ($37,499 in the U.S.). In comparison, the entry-level Tesla Model Y, starting at £44,990 ($56,393 USD), offers 283 miles (455 km) of range on the WLTP cycle.
Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker emphasized the comprehensive package and accessibility of electric driving offered by the Ocean Sport, making it an attractive option for customers. The WLTP range test results further reinforce the model’s performance capabilities, addressing the evolving needs of electric vehicle enthusiasts.
As the entry-level variant, the Ocean Sport features a single motor powering the front wheels, accelerating the crossover to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.4 seconds. The model also boasts 200 kW DC fast charging capabilities, allowing it to regain up to 188 miles (302 km) of range in just 30 minutes.
For consumers seeking higher performance, the Ocean Extreme variant offers all-wheel-drive, 550 hp (410 kW/558 PS), and an extended range of up to 360 miles (579 km) per charge. However, the enhanced specifications come at a higher cost, with the Ocean Extreme starting at £60,880 in the U.K. and $68,999 in the U.S.
